Professions in Publishing Project Closing Conference was held on Thrusday, 4 May 2017 at 16.00 at the Intercontinental Istanbul with high participation. The participants included professionals within the publishing sector who contributed to the project at every stage and many TPA members, academics and cultural center directors.

Project team was in Paris on 12-14 December 2016 to observe and consult about publishing education and training programs, professional standards and related regulations in France.

Project proceeds with the intensive working group meetings focusing on Editorial, Production and Sales-Marketing fields.

Kingston University Publishing MA Course Leader, consultant and writer Alison Baverstock was our guest in the International Istanbul Book Fair at the panel “Publishing Education and Beyond: Professions in Publishing and The Path to Success”.

Project team was in Frankfurt on 17-19 October to meet with the executives and students of one project associate, mediacampus Frankfurt as well as with professors experienced in publishing education and learn in deep about German dual education system and the history and today of publishing education and training courses.

Professions in Publishing Workshop was held on 1-2 October 2016 at Best Western Şile Gardens Hotel in Istanbul. Among the 60 participants including publishing house owners and executives, senior professionals, officers from related NGOs and public institutions, academics gathered to define professions in publishing sector in Turkey, make the first step towards defining the professional standards and qualifications.
